The Paul Hartsaw Quartet (at times Trio) is a group formed in 1995 which documents Paul's evolution in the jazz medium.

Invoking such influences as Wayne Shorter and Anthony Braxton, Paul seeks to bridge the gap between the more traditional forms of jazz improvisation (chord changes and song forms) and the developments of the 'avant-garde' jazz of the late 60's and beyond.
